PRIVACY POLICY
Responsibilities under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act. (PIPEDA)

1.    Accountability:
Young's Canadian Water Systems is responsible for the confidentiality and protection of all personal information within the organization.  Personal information of customers will in no way be sold or given to third parties.  The Privacy Officer, Paul Young, has the responsibility for the protection of information as well as compliance to the PIPEDA.


2.    Identifying Purposes:
Personal information collected by Young's Canadian Water Systems includes a customer's: name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, water source and quality, bank information for pre-authorized payment or credit card information.

When an individual purchases, rents, leases equipment, calls for services or delivery, Young's Canadian Water Systems will make the individual aware of the reasons as to why the information is collected and how it is to be used.


3.    Consent:
Young's Canadian Water Systems will obtain an individual's consent before or during the time of collecting information. Young's Canadian Water Systems will collect, use or disclose personal information without an individual's consent only in limited circumstances as required by law.


4.    Limiting Collection:
Young's Canadian Water Systems will limit the amount of information it collects when possible. Information collected by Young's Canadian Water Systems will only be for the sale, rental, leasing or servicing of water treatment equipment, water testing and deliveries.


5.    Limiting Use, Disclosure and Retention:
Young's Canadian Water Systems will only use or disclose information for the purpose for which it was collected, unless consent is given by the individual to use or disclose it for other purposes. Disclosure of information will primarily be given to the manufacturer of the water treatment equipment for warranty purposes. Other disclosures may be to government agencies regarding water quality or where required by law.

Information regarding customers will not be sold or exchanged with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Files are stored in both hard copy and in an electronic database. Those customers who are inactive will be removed from the active customer database and stored in a separate safe location.


6.    Accuracy:
Young's Canadian Water Systems will make every attempt to keep all personal records of its customers accurate, complete and up to date. Individuals may challenge the accuracy of their personal information and have it remedied where necessary.


7.    Safeguards:
Young's Canadian Water Systems will employ safeguards against unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or modification of personal information. Safeguards will include locking offices at the close of each day, restricting access to files, keeping information on a "need to know basis", as well as, password encryption of computers and their software. Furthermore, computers containing customer information will not have access to the Internet.


8.    Openness:
Young's Canadian Water Systems will make this policy available to customers, clients and all employees to read at their request.


9.    Individual Access:
When requested individuals can be informed of the personal information Young's Canadian Water Systems possesses how it has been used and any organization it has been disclosed to. Customers may request that their information be amended for the purposes of accuracy and completeness.

10.   Compliance:
Customers who question Young's Canadian Water Systems compliance to this policy may contact Young's Canadian Water Systems' Privacy Officer. If the customer is not satisfied with the way Young's Canadian Water Systems handled the complaint, the customer can contact the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at www.privcom.gc.ca
